Handy tip - easy access to options

One of the first things I do when setting up a new install of any Xara software is to put an icon on my top tool bar to open the options dialogue with a single click.

For any new users out there this is as easy as 1 2 3 and you'll find that there are lots more buttons you can add for often used tools.

Step 1: go into the window menu and click control bars
Step 2: On the control bars dialogue box that pops up scroll down and select button palette.
Step 3: About half way down the palette (I told you there were lots of buttons ) is a wrench icon, hold the alt key and click and drag the wrench to the location on your toolbar where you want it and release the alt key to drop it.

Here's what I do to get at the options dialog quickly: I right-click on the page, and choose the bottom item, "Page Options...". That opens the dialog and from there it's just one click on one of the tabs to get to the options you want.
