Default File Open Dialogue in X10 x64

I searched for the answer to this, but could not find it.

I just "upgraded" to X10 x64 and in the "File, Open" window, I no longer have the option to "Show Preview" in the top right hand corner. I also do not have the help button in the bottom right corner.

I seem to now have the standard Windows explorer window opening up.

Is this supposed to be an improvement, or am I missing something?

yep, i confirm what you have reported
    funny how they've removed that
    wonder why?
possibly to increase the explorer view

yes, save and import are windows dialogs too; may or may not be intentional, but preview can be useful I would miss it

i never use the file open dialog so it's only because of this post that i know about it
i use a program called thumbsplus, it's dated 2007, lol
but still brilliant for file viewing

If I had upgraded, I would definitely be irked, that this functions seems to be missing.
I use this function a lot.

    I don't have version 10.

Being a call to windows' standard dialog, it looks like one can change the view to use thumbnails. Which are larger than that little preview thingy.

if one has thumbnails enabled in windows yes - but there are disadvantages to that in windows 8/8.1 unless you are happy to have everything thumbnailed

I've passed this along to Xara support.

    Windows 8.1...I personally like it.

Only the folder(s) that one is navigating in have the thumbnail view set. How much effort does it take if I am also using file explorer to click a button to go back to me default list view...if I am so inclined to do so? Not much.

If Xara did anything to change the present behavior it would be nice if they read the user's present choice and reset the choice upon selection. I never use the preview under previous versions.
