Why these bright texts?

I am running Win 7 Home Premium, English version.
Now I am using Xara Designer Pro X10.

The program by default has white text on a dark gray background. But when I open the "New from Content Catalogue" from the menu the teext in the dialog box is bright blue on a white background.
Why does trends in graphics have to occur in programs like XDPX10?
When I work I need to be able to easily and fast find what I am looking for and has no need for fashion trends.

Yikes, tried the Alt+Ctrl+Shift+S and lost all my customization :-( (yes, as I contorted my hand and fingers to do this and hit Enter, I remembered that it wasn't a clever thing to do, but too late!)

Isn't there a way that can be saved, as in PaintShop Pro where I can save a custom workspace, well, lots of custom workspaces :-)
Very very handy.
I have often wondered about this.
Oh dear, now I have to do the whole Xara custom toolbar thing again.. grrr

the missing text is probably because you are using the light interface, which is not officially supported anymore, and not the dark one

Ha, was it that simple?
Now I am back to black and the dialog box shows everything like intended.

- one of the reasons I stick with the black interface these days; I still dislike it, but as zeb once said, the idea is to look at the art not the interface.... don't get the benefit really as I don't work in ideal ambient lighting conditions so the interface colour makes little difference in practice and I suspect that is true for many...

the dark gray toolbar buttons are bigger, like bloody duplo bricks
if you have masses of toolbars open you lose screen space
it does make a difference i assure you, i've tested both with same screen layout
or i may have missed something to make them smaller but i haven't found it

sure Frank - I understand about the buttons; but I use keystrokes rather than floating toolbars; I don't think there is a way to make them smaller on the dark UI

when I said the interface colour makes little difference [in relation to ambient lighting] what I meant was that a black interface is supposed to be less of an interference with colour perception when editing photographs and designing precise colour work, it's not just 'fashion'.... but for that to work effectively your workplace lighting has to be optimal

I know how you feel, I forgot about this, but luckily I saw it here, I just purchased designer pro X (or for me Xtreme Pro X ;o) ) and wanted my light and fluffy UI back, and it is. ;o) (and a lot of video to watch, for my last upgrade was pro 5)
