Luke - Here's a suggestion since I think the wish lists get a bit out of hand and there are too many of them.

The developers know what is possible with the current code and what is impossible or very difficult.

Why not post a poll and list 10 drawing features, 10 web features, 10 photo editing features, and 10 text/dtp features and let the members here vote for their favorite 3 or something like that. It will give more insight into what users/members find of importance.

    Does that make sense?

I find it hard to believe that clear trends will not result.

I bought XDP 9X around 2 weeks ago, and wrote to Xara re upgrading to the new version for free. This was on the 23rd. I have not heard a dicky bird back from them. Is this normal? I work in Tech Support myself and we have to reply to e-mails within 4-6 hours, which I guess is rather quicker than most companies, but I am eager to register the new version and have access to the new features.

    Regards,

    Carol

Yeah, speedy responses are not the norm. But you will hear back. The support staff is not as big as some company's so sometimes it does take longer.

If you do not hear back in a few more days, post again and we'll see if we can get someone's attention.

    Hi

I also wrote about the same problem. I also bought the software about the same time as you did. So I hope I will get my answer before the guarantee period has run out: I was suggested to return the product and buy the updated version. A perfectly sound advice but I somehow hoped to avoid the hussle. A 30 days guarantee for updates seems reasonable to me.

I do want to point out that I am otherwise very pleased with my product and the ´problems´ I have getting it to work are mainly ´self inflicted´ There is a learning curve here for me :-)

well well well its not like me to buck the trend
    lots of "meh" reponses
lots of "im not upgrading" responses
if 89 euros or equivalent is too much to upgrade to the best allround graphhics package in existence
    then dont upgrade
niche users will always be disappointed always have been
i bet even adobe have whining niche users
but i do illustartion and web design for profit
and i havent used adobe cs in 12 months
i havent paid for it in 5 years
xara fulfils 99,9999% of my needs
89euros is a tank of petrol or 10 packets of fags or a saturday night restaurant
xdp10 earns me far more than that
when you upgrade you provide money for the developers
so the next version can be better
this year i got rwd and 64bit plugins support and even silly shapes
ive got everything in one box
    thats worth my 89euro
    im losing customers to wix
i need to work quickly and keep my prices down
so im a happy bunny so i can pay up and not shut up
16 years ive been paying up and i cant say im unhappy
and its still got plenty of features ive never used
If someone tried to make me dig my own grave I would say No.
They're going to kill me anyway and I'd love to die the way I lived:
    Avoiding Manual Labour.

if you happen to benefit from all these then, as you say, it is indeed a bargain

Way too little, way too late. A real opportunity tragically missed. Serious vector drawing capability is not a "niche" requirement; it's everything. Designer "Pro's" primary Bezier drawing tool remains fatally sub-standard. That's foremost, but far from the only thing. The "catch up" list is long; before even mentioning anything actually innovative.

Vector drawing is stuck in the doldrums. Someone will eventually wake up and realize that. Doesn't look like it will be Xara, though.

Polls and majorities be hanged. If you want to lead, you have to set your sights above conventional wisdom and standard-fare.
