I like that Gary, and it sure does have a 3D look. I think it's a rubber ducky in disguise though.

    Default extruded cameras

The easy Part was tracing over the underlying cameras so I have more control over color and tone. The hard part was extruding and arranging the shapes!

That one really catches my eye, Gary. It's got that mechanical look to it.

Yes, the extrusion tool can be very difficult to handle at times, as when you're trying to get the precise position you want.

You did a great job, though.

    Thanks Ron and Graham!

Now you know how the effect can be done; anyone want to take a crack at it in a new composition?

I'm a very firm believer that there are no secrets in digital graphics, but only truths you haven't discovered yet. That was my approach when Barbara and I wrote the very first Photoshop book for Windows. We wanted to speed up a learning curve so we cut right to the chase...none of this "Windows Secrets" sales-hook kinda stuff!

    My Best,

    Gary

    Default G Ball

This is one of the few pieces I did using a stylus. I used GNOMRA at partial transparency to "build up" the rough metallic shape.

That, and a whole lot of Blends.

That's why I recommend copying an extruded shape, beginning to extrude the following one, and then press Ctrl+Shift+A to paste the specific angle, color, and so on of the first extrude you make.

I think I did a video tutorial on it once with a pie chart.

Creating a simplified steering wheel for a car drawing.
(steering wheels in cars vary greatly from make, model and year, so there's no one way to creat every steering wheel. You just have to dinker (technical term) with it)
