Okay, why two "shadows". Lots of times you can see two shadows under a shape, one inside the other. These are called the umbra and penumbra of blocking light. The larger one is the extent of a cone projecting light on a shape, mostly like a spotlight, while the inner shadow is more focused and sharp and deeper—the umbra.

I drew this as Paul Saumure says, "by the seat of my pants", and it just looked wrong (or too simple) without the larger penumbra supporting the invisible table, you know?

Regarding: drawring. I thought it was funny that Sir Paul sang the lyrics to "'til There Was You" (from Meredith Wilson's Music Man), as , "There were birds; in the sky; but I never sawr them singing; no I never sawr them at all, 'til there was you..." on their LP, but as soon as they were singing on TV, Paul learned how to sing "saw." ! Funny, if you're from New Jersey of NYC's Hell's Kitchen you sometimes say it that way, too.

I love it, Gare! I'm sure we say things that sound odd to them! I remember having a conversation with an old Scotsman, my friend and I teased him a little about HIS accent. Now this was a lesson for us...
He told us that we didn't speak English, we spoke American. Well, that straightened us out, I'll tell ya! Loved talking to that old man! He had a lot of funny stories.

BTW, if you REALLY wanted to draw a car, I KNOW it would make my drawings look just the way they really are, amateurish. But, like with most things, you have to really want to do it to be able to excel at it. That's why I keep trying to improve and learn new ways of doing things. I just have ALWAYS had a love for cars. This I think to the dismay of a number of TGers. (NOT ANOTHER CAR!)

But, at least I get a lot of helpful observations which help me to improve and to think things through a little more. I'm thankful for that.

Truth be told many on TG are, including you ,Ron, Frances, Gary. Egg and yes Rik.
I haven't named all but I have learned so much from all you gays, and others here, thank yyou all.

Egg I have learned so much from over the years. His tutorials have always been valuable to me.

While I do not very often post my results does not mean I do not do them, even though I do not have the gift for graphics like Paul P and Stygg do, I try.

I have been following Paiul P's posts with great interest and hopefully some it will stick.
Paul gave me a clue that helped me do kaleidoscopess. For instance.

Thanks, Ron. Actually, the sun cartoon was hand drawn and then scanned in, and is less than perfectly circular. Not a bad regret, as regrets go!
