Changing Alt-key select back to old Xara-selection tool

Hey everyone!

I've recently updated my old Xara 6 to the newer 2013 version. I'm highly content with the added tools and new layout, but one thing is bothering me: the alt-selection.
In Xara 6 you could use the alt key to easy select items based on a touching items with a mouse-over. Ideal for complex selections and I used it daily.

Now it has been replaced with a marquee box, which is a lot less easy to use. I would love to have the old tool back, how can I change it back to the old setup?

I don't have that option in the menu...
At work I've got the newest version: Photo & Graphic Designer 9 which has the same issue.

AFAIK only designer pro [from ver 8 I think] has that option...

EDIT: - by which I mean what Gary suggested

the alt selection is also only in the pro version - but may go back further...

Hmm..., that sucks. I had Version 6 Pro, that explains why I had that function previously.

ok - as you say, bad news, sorry - I know how you feel, I use this method of selection as much if not more than marque myself

Thanks, I discover that I can also do this by pressing the ctrl + alt keys. It's not as handy as the other method, but it's good enough for now.
