    Default Not Norman Rockwell

Almost everyone loves the stories that Norman Rockwell tells with his brushes. The following graphic is my attempt of converting one of my photographs of my grandson (the catcher) into a moment in the life of my grandson.

    Looks excellent.

Did you do that from a photo, and using Xara?

I was a professional photographer for 35 years, then one day I broke a vertebra and damaged my spinal cord. So photography became a love of my past. I began experimenting with graphics, trying to turn my photographs into another graphic art form. I enjoy Xara as it gives a large working area.

    Excellent work!

I really like the texture in the grass, it has a bit of a watercolor thing going.
Could you explain your process a bit?

This one looks very good also laser1. I also along with Mark T am wondering how you are creating those. Maybe you should get with Gare on the Xone and do a tutorial that will hopefully answer some members questions. However you are doing them they look marvelous. Maybe you are doing a bitmap trace, is that the case?

If that was possible, I would ask Gore to go into full time business with me. The problem is, all the images are completed with plug-ins, each plug-in has many effects and each effect is custom settings, each custom setting is saved in a file. I use 20 plug-ins in creating graphics (see in image below) and use the ones necessary. Eyecandy 4000 alone contain 28 categories of effects and chrome effects contain 1532 custom file settings. I utilize several plug-ins when creating a graphics. I am sorry that I can not attempt such a task of creating instructions. A custom effect has to be created for each photograph, I have learned that each photograph must be fine tuned.... I am really sorry. Also, I do not use bitmap trace in creating any of the effects.

The effects produce some really interesting images.
