    Default Xara compatability

Hello one and all, first post as a newbie. I used to use Xara Studio v1.0 partly due to a friend was on the main design team and thus got a copy from him. I loved it and used it quite a lot then, but have not used it for quite a while as have had no need to.
However I now require something like XS or a modern version, and then was gobsmacked by what I thought I needed. That comes in at a whopping £250!. Now all those old .art files, are they able to be read by the newer versions?, and would I need the full fat version or would the £70 version suffice for just creating flyers etc which I intend to use it for?

    Welcome to TalkGraphics

You should be fine with Xara Page & Layout Designer and yes, I think it can import old (ancient) Xara .art files.

I started using Xara when Corel had licensed the rights to market the product and it was called CorelXara. This was 1996. 18 years ago! What you're referring to is previous to that!
