Adding video PLAY button to a content slideshow

Does anyone know if a video PLAY button can be embedded into a content slideshow, like I'm showing you in this picture, which allows visitors to click on the button and be taken to view the film's trailer? I have tried setting this up, and linking a PLAY button to a video, but when I preview the web-page, the button vanishes.

At the moment I'm working with a rather standard video page, http://portstephensfilmfestival.com.au/films.htm I think the above would be a more exciting way to go.

You can do this as a Presentation, but I don't know if this can be done on a web page.

Sketch or Acorn are the go to guys for solutions like these. Gentlemen, any suggestions? Or anyone else?

You might look at HiSlider http://www.hislider.com/?product-hislider and see if there is any way to make this do what you need.
