Is it just me or is anyone else getting Floating Point Divide by Zero error messages (and crashes) when trying to alter the image properties in the Name Gallery.

Every time I click the black box with the white JPEG text, I get this error and Xara crashes.

I kind of wish it wouldn't do that because I'm trying to prepare a mini-tutorial for the next WebXealot and I don't want to have to say, DON'T press that button, or you'll be sorry

Gary - Using JPG I got a "Serious Error" message and crash. Although the GIF seems to work OK.

Thanks Soquili

Can anyone else verifiy this?

Also when exporting the image in slices, changing the file type in the GIF export dialog produces the same error.

I even tried a clean reinstall with no luck.

..and I experienced no problem.???
If I'm getting you correctly Gary, your creating shapes above an image, naming them, then clicking the default black box gif, in an effort to export as a jpg.
If this is your problem I can't duplicate it.
Let me know if I can help further.

Yes. Whenever I press the JPEG rectangle, I get a divide by zero error and Xara crashes.

If this is not happening to you then it might either be a video drive problem or that darn Olympus Camedia software that caused other bitmap related problems earlier.

Thanks for following up on this.

Gary,

I tried to export a rectangle to a jpeg via the names gallery and also recieved a divide by zero error and a Xara crash.

Win98SE and Olympus Camedia software.

The Olympus software was loaded very recently. Has anyone tried uninstalling and reinstalling Xara X and the patch to see if being the last installed helps?

Perhaps I didn't understand the problem correctly, but here is what I tried.

I opened a TIFF in Xara, put a shape on top and cobined/intersected. Then in the NAME gallery I gave it a name and changed it to JPEG which I exported with the export button, and afterwards replaced by itself from the JPEG window.
No crashes, no problem.

But exporting a named Tiff is asking for trouble (see other thread).

I used to have problems with a network card that was too "old" a few months ago.
I also don't care to fdisk (I have a separate partition for data.) if I keep having irregularities or problems. I have no games, beta's, or virus scanner (causes more problems than it solves) etc on my system. I start up the necessary, nothing more (Msconfig).
In my opinion, you can delete Xara's entries in the register too when you really want to uninstall. But this is delicate matter, better ask a specialist.
