Does the XDW Pro import function work ?

Hi,

I tried to import a pdf or word document, but this just creates a text box over the existing webpage. I don't know what to do further with this.
I think this function simply does not work or it is not usefull. Has anyone experience with this ?

Steps: import - merge - select the textbox is has created - at the bottom uncheck the "Automatically create new pages". The latter is optional if you want to avoid creation of a series of new webpages in case you want to import a multi-page document.

After this you can extend the text box window the way you like, move it (although this is difficult to control) but it will stay on top of the existing page layout.

This is where I got stuck. Can anyone try this out and report the result ?

This is how I get PDFs in:

1. Open a new document - safer to do so rather than mess up all your prior work.
2. Select File > Import... with File type type PDF.
3. In the Import PDF window, pick the Optimise for Editing and click the Import button.
4. With the question window, pick the Insert (new pages) option.
5. Copy across what you need to your Xara design.

ok, I got it. I expected more from this though. It's very basic.

If I do a Ctrl-V/Ctrl-C from an MS-Word doc, I get better results than when using the import Word function, e.g. auto page re-sizing !
