    I love the cut-out effect, but I'm afraid that I'm getting precariously close to a "clip-art" look...

    Thats great borlip, dunno what you mean by the cipart reference but she looks beautiful to me. I like the sad look on her face, nice brave colours too.

    Hi Borlip,

    I like your drawing! The vivid colours are a sharp contrast to most Asian art. That makes it unique and pleasing IMHO.

    ... she looks great, Borlip. The composition is very different and I find it works really well. I think the background is very interesting and adds some nice character to the picture.

    I'm just a beginner - so I'm not sure I can give any clever advice for "improvements" - I think the picture looks good.

    But perhaps for the background you could get some neat ideas from Tao's "re-worked" - varying the intesitity of colours could add even more character?
