Transparency help needed please?

It worked for me too Kiwi. I could be wrong but it doesn't seem to me like Chrome would make the difference. Are you certain Xara is set up the same on both computers?, especially the export settings.

Both look to be the same.
Not sure on the rest as when I install Xara I use default set up?

I don't get a problem with export either.
I get a transparent background.

Could it be exporting the page as well?

Not sure about that Larry but the background that I can see is not as too large.
I have uninstalled & re installed Xara and unfortunately, No change

How are you doing the selection - are you dragging round the shapes? If you are how many objects are selected?
If you view in outline mode can you see anything in the background? (outline mode - set view quality slider all the way to the left)

Can you post your exported png file?

Not seeing anything in the export window is probably just because the view is set to 100% - click on the page icon in the middle and you should see the image being exported.

Clicking on grouped image or dragging around it comes out identical. 1 object but in outline mode I can see it is also picking up any rectangle I may put behind it (but not select!)
I am seriously beginning to believe that the problem is not Xara related and could be my new computers set up or the new 27" monitor I now use?

When I open your PNG file in Photoshop it is transparent. If you import it into a new Xara document is it transparent? You will need to put a colour behind it to see.

Yep! Opened with xara in a new document it has no background.
Only when I am opening the saved .png file in photo viewer or picture manager it has the white BG??
