    i'am beginner of xara x and need a basic information:

    could anybody please explain, where are the tools to cut some areas (not whole objects.

    how can i cut some parts of a picture even
    the picture is not separated by objects, i couldn't find any scissors nor any cutting-tools

    Hello Joe,

    There is no crop tool in Xara. I've attached an image that explains how to remove some of your image useing the tools available to you. The object that does the slicing can be any shape and you can do this multiple times.

    Ifind the best tools for cutting are the 'Shape Editor' & 'Freehand' tools. Draw around the shape you want to cut out. (The boat in the attachement). Select All, Arrange / Combine Shapes / Intersect Shapes. It might seem fiddly but you very quickly get up to speed.
    The best thing about this is that the shape remains editable after cutting and any errors can be adjusted merely by repositioning individual nodes points.
