DP7 opening prior document, hanging

Is there any way to force Xara to open an empty document and no other files? On load, my DP7 attempts to open a prior document that involves a complex Photoshop filter render. DP7 is hanging up here, the status bar reading, “Please wait: rendering Live Effects...” I could always reinstall if it comes to that, but if there’s an easier workaround, thanks in advance. If you move the file to a different folder, Xara won't find it. Xara will tell you this and then it will forget all about it.

Download XaReg2 (link in my sig)

Make sure DP7 is clised, open XaReg2 and select 'Xara XtremePro 7.1' from the program list.
On the General TAB Un-Check 'Restore Backups On Start'.
Then click the 'Run Selected Program' button, top right.

Go to Utilities > Options > Backups




Make sure Backup open documents on program close... is unchecked.

Yep, that works once you have the program open, Frank. But the OP can't get that far if it hangs trying to open the file it was closed with.
This is the purpose of the setting in XaReg2, to help in these situations.
