    Default Supermarine Seafangs

The Seafang built for carrier service first flew in 1946. Powered by a 2350 hp Rolls Royce Griffin, a top speed of 475mph, twin contra- rotating props and laminar flow wings the Seafang was at the pinnacle of Spitfire design. Only two were produced and never entered service, so I'll call this a 'what if' as three fly in formation down the coast. The planes are 100% vector and the landscape is a mix of vector and raster.

    Absolutely beautiful, Gray.

Very dramatic, especially with the background!

    The whitish cliffs of Dover?

Beautiful rendering. Are the clouds rendered or did you use a photograph?

    Thanks Ron, Gary.
Gary, the clouds are drawn and colour blocked in vector then finished off with raster. It takes about 1.5+ months from start to finish on an illustration like this. Here's the wireframe.

That's an incredible amount of patience and the results obviously justify the investment of time.
