How to remove camera effect from Iphone 4

We have recently been in France and my wife used her Iphone 4 to take tons of photos. Quite a numer of them has some shade effects on the right side and minor ones on the right side especially in the edges.

I have tried several features of Xara Graphic designer to remove them but wasn't successfull. At least the result wasn't appropriate. Does anyone has an idea how I can improve those photos. I have attached an example.

Hi Ruediger, Welcome to Talkgraphics

First are you still wanting to know how to do this in Xara Photo&Graphics Designer? As you have posted this in the General graphics chat you could get answers for using any software. If you want I'll move the thread (or one of the other mods may move it) to the Xara Graphics Chat forum.

Second we need to know the exact version you are using. There may be different methods depending on what tools are available to you.

Crop (to remove vignetting), adjust levels, adjust saturation and temperature.

I'm guessing that if the vignette wasn't a deliberate effect, the case may not be properly aligned over the lens (or be so thick it's in the field of vision).

Hi Angelize,
thank you for your advice. This was the first time I used the forum and I thought this one is the best. Sorry for my innocence. In respect of your questions of the used product I have a purchased version of Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 2013 and I'm currently testing the Xara Pro Designer 9 Version as I have also a registererd version of Xara Web Desginer 7 and would like to have some of the nice features of the premium version.

I have to admit that I'm not using the Xara Photo & Graphic Designer every day so I may have overlooked some features. The crop feature as proposed would be an great idea but would generate pictures of different sizes. So I'm still looking whether there are different options within XARA.

Please feel free to move the thread to the appropriate forum.

Hello Pauland,

this effect shows up not on all pictures. Especially when it was extremely sunny and I guess as well that the case creates some shades on the lens leading to this effects.
