Could you possibly do a video showing how you use it in Xara?

I find it simply unusable and I'd love to know how you can depend on it. I'm clearly doing something wrong or have completely misunderstood it. But I'd love to see a video of it being used in a real world situation.

    Well, that was instructive

And that's why I would have liked to see its use in a real world example.

    (thx for the vids)

Surely, the whole point of placing various buttons on menu bars is so that you can personalise to suit yourself.
Not for a button to disappear.

So, what's going on with the Pen Tool?
Same here....... I was just to lazy to post about it... figured it was a bug that would disappear with the next update... but yes, that thing won't stay put.....

It all comes down to convenience and what you are comfortable with. When you click-drag with the shape tool, it simply moves the point you've added but retains it as a line. With the pen tool it changes the point to a smooth join and moves the handle. I've tried using both and I find I work much faster with the pen tool.
Don't do videos or I'd show you. What is frustrating for me is that the edit options info bar is absent in the case of the pen tool. I can understand JET's frustration.

@ Big Frank, If you look at this tutorial from September 2012 on the XaraXone, Gary Bouton's video explains how to use the Pen Tool. It's well worth a look.

Thanks for that link Bob. I had all but forgotten about that tutorial.
