    Default Opening PDFs for editing

When you open a PDF you have the choice of opening it for editing. Unfortunately it produces small chunks of text instead of a nice text block. So, you really cannot manipulate it to add text the middle of a paragraph say.
I tried to be clever and selected a bunch of chunks and tried a "combine shapes"" XDP9 did not like that a that at all and went belly up. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

That's just the way PDF files are, Grace. I can't remember the technical reason at this moment.
The same thing happened in my old PDF editor before I used Xara Xtreme and now Designer (Foxit).
Even a PDF created in Xara Designer will import back with the same results.

If you take a PDF file and open it in Word, save it and open the .docx file into XDP9 you get decent editable text - yeah.
