    Default Tablet for digital painting

Hey guys. I wanted to start digital painting to pursue my passion in arts, what do you think is the best tablet to use?

I moved your post to OffTopic Chat where it might be more attention.

There may be many opinions as which is best. I have a Wacom Bamboo myself but, do you want to watch the monitor as you paint or be able to see what you are doing on the tablet? In which case I think a higher end tablet such as the Wacom Intuos. Zeb would have 1st hand experience and will be able to offer a good opinion.

EDIT: Personally I would like to have an Intuos but can't afford it.

That is not as easy as it looks as I have tried. I thought it would be great to try and paint outdoors with a iPad that doesn't get too wet and use the camera to get photo for using later. It does work sketching out but it does get hugely frustrating when you try and add lines but because your fingers are thicker than a pencil you waste more times hitting the back button to remove lines than you do drawing. I then thought there must be a stylus which could improve the situation so I now have 2 the Bamboo by Wacom and the Adonit Jot Pro both are good but are they substantially better that a finger? no but they do limit the mistakes.

I have several on my ipad. You might want to check out SketchBook Pro by Autodesk. I think it is free.
Another one I just spotted and looks interesting is Procreate $4.99

Yeh Larry I have SketchBook Pro but had to pay a nominal amount for it. Also have Adobe Ideas and Wacom's Bamboo Paper and these are both free. Adobe Ideas has a Pen Tool so it is vector and can save as PDF in DropBox.

Albacore did you check out Peoceate? For a rastor painting program it looks real interesting, at least to me.

My Dell XPS-18 is a touch pad with fill Windows 8 on it so it can run the Xara progs. And you can use your finger.
