    Default Help me format text

Lets say I have the following menu list:

    Code:
    Product 1 $199
    Product 22 $199
    Product 842 $129
See how by using Space button I can not set prices to be aligned one under another one, they are always shifted a bit left or right.

Instead of creating separate text and aligning manually is there a quick feature that let me separate prices form text and alight them automatically?

And for those who happen to be using the newest release (don't know exactly which variations of the program, but I know it's in DPX9), there is a new table widget with sortable columns, using comma separated data for the display.

The tab setup is not very intuitive.

First off, screen rulers have to be displayed (Ctrl L to display screen rulers).

There is a triangle on the screen ruler to the left of the tabs area. The default tab is Left Justified, then Right Justified, Center Justified and finally Decimal.

Click this triangle until you select the kind of tab you want to set, then click on the tabs area of the screen ruler to indicate where you want the selected tab type placed.

You can use more than one tab type.

When you place the first tab, all of the default tab stops are cleared to the left of the tab.

You can drag the tab indicators to change the location of the tab.

    I dont get it

If I select Decima Stop point, text does not stop there....

FIrst I highlight text box, than I drag decimal point arrow to the place I want text to stop, I start typing text and it does nothing... text is going the same way as without arrow set.

The decimal tab only works with numbers that have a decimal point. For example $200.00 or $200. It will not work with $200. It aligns everything in that column on the decimal.

Open the attached XAR file. You will get a warning that this was created with a newer version. Click OK. Select the text and see how the tabs are placed.

I don't know if this is of any help
if i need to add a table into one of my sites/documents i always do it in LibreOffice Calc
this allows me to do all of the formatting calculating spacing and justification
then its a simple cas eof copy and paste into xara
it makes life really really easy
