Linking from Text to PDF file

I cannot find a video explanation for this. Hence this question here.
Can anyone please explain to me how to get the 'text link to a PDF file' on my computer to view as a pop up? I can do the link through webproperties with the text highlighted, however, it does not show on clicking the link in preview.

Just link to the PDF document via the Link menu. It should open in a separate window automatically.

When you add a link like this to the document, even if the PDF file resides on your desktop or hard drive, Xara publishes a copy in the index_html_files folder.
