    Default Etched in stone?

Hi, all! Xara beginner here, back to ask for some more excellent advice!

I was wondering if there's a way, in Xara, to make a drawing look like it's been carved or etched into a stone surface. I've been messing around, trying to discover this for myself, but no luck so far. Any help offered would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I applied a bevel to a medium gray shape, grouped the beveled shape, and applied a Flat - Brightness transparency.

That's very nice Gary. This month's Xara Xone tips and tricks tutorial can also be used to create an etched in stone effect. I went for a more chiselled effect. Instead of creating the gold foil texture as Gary B's tutorial I created a duplicate of my stone texture and clipped it to my object and used a stained glass transparency to blend it with the texture and bevel. I created the stone texture using layered fractals, there is a tutorial on how to do that on the Xara Xone too. Fabulous Fractals

There are brobably several ways to do it, however here are a couple examples of what I did using the bevel tool.

Actually, this is a mini-tutorial from an old Xara Xone Workbook http://www.xaraxone.com/webxealot/workbook57/wb_5.htm

You can get very effective deep carved look using just vector shapes in straight lined text but unfortunately it's not at all simple if the text has curves.

I can do the Above methods but can someone (without A condescending attitude) Explain how to get A extruded rectangle to have a stone texture on all sides?
    Thanks Jim
