Well I also created a quick video, showing how I've been doing this and the difference between a web doc and a drawing doc.
But Adam, if your tile is a single colour (as you have been showing us so far) then simply export the PNG as a 2 colour bitmap, drop it back into the document and tiling will be perfect.. This will fix your problem.

The penny has dropped! Thank you so much guys I mine is working as you say.

The problem was that to save time I was viewing my created images in the windows picture and fax viewer (default viewer that comes with xp). It seems that this is the program adding the lines not Xara!

Obviously I was having the issue in Xara first whilst not using a web document but since following all the advice I was still seeing lines, but that was my picture viewer!

I feel like a bit of a plonker now!

Anyway, thanks again for all of your help guys, what a great forum this is.. even two videos thanks egg and sledger I can get on with my project now!
