It's a perfectly reasonable plan to release WDP first then Designer Pro. WDP is a simpler project, so it's better to catch any problems with that than the more complex software.

Very good point Paul, though perhaps another good reason to not go the 'both programs' route.

For the sake of a few weeks delay, why bother to buy two programs?

If Xara do continue the discount, then it's just a minor inconvenience. Have they actually stated there will be a DP discount again equivalent to the upgrade cost for WDP?

It has been like that in the past, Paul, the discount on XDP is greater if I've purchased the latest upgrade to WDP.

It's not the money, it's the installation and setting up of WDP then just a few weeks later it is rendered useless for another year. A month or so isn't a massive amount of time to wait, but if you're like me, you can't wait to get your hands on the latest goodies. My wife thinks I'm sad!
