    Default Mobius Band stereogram

This is part of my new series of minimalist stereograms.

What makes these different from past stereograms is the floating lines.

In the past these would have been flatter without the feeling of transparency.

I am using a line like depth image (in this case masking four blends) and creating a mapped image stereogram. Then I am creating a vector version of the mapped image stereogram.

The mapped texture stereogram has some vagueness and some lines drop out so in creating the vector version of the line work I can go back in and try to fix the vagaries. This image needs some work and I might start from scratch and redo it now that I see some of the problems.

Here's a redrawn version for cross eyes viewing. It works both ways but with parallel viewing the flat circles appear in front and the 3D will be in the back.

With cross eyes viewing the forward part of the mobius bands will come out of the stars.

In the end instead of making the blend inside a converted line, which did not produce a smooth transition, I used a blend (8 different blends actually) of 2 pixel circles.

I always view them with parallel viewing but it's strange how cross-eyed viewing reverses the layer structure. In a future world there's going to be wars between parallel viewing and cross-eyed viewing peoples! Thanks for sharing Gary.
