    Default Selector Tool behavior

    What I want to accomplish: Move right margin to the right.
    How do I do that: Type a larger number in "W"
    So far so good, however as I hit enter the "X" value is changed also.
    The text block seems centered, so I have to change the "X" value to it's original value.
    Aspect Ratio is not locked.
    It seems one action to many.
    And why is it that if I drag the right margin my font size is altered?
    Am I missing something?
    Oh, I'm using MX premium
    Grtz,

    Welcome to TalkGraphics

    The right margin of the page or the right margin of a text area?

    It sounds like you want to extend the width of a text area. You do this with the text area selected by dragging either of the small red boxes at the four corners of the text area rectangle. If you extend the text area with the Selector Tool (as you have discovered) it resizes the text.

    Indeed, I want to extend the width of the text area.
    Red boxes? The object is a "Text Column" with only white squares at the corners. The left top also has a smaller square to rotate the area.
    But dragging the white squares deforms the font, the selector tool didn't. Are we talking about the same? 1post vs 22015posts, you know what you're talking about.

    OK, I see the red boxes in the video.
    Probably because I used the Genus-template there's a slight difference.
    According to the Page & Layer Gallery it's a "Text Column" and I've 'discovered' a cyan line with squares on the end.
    With those I can move the left and right margins. I cannot shorten or lengthen the area.
    But thanks you both!
    <edit>
    When I create a Text area, the boxes are cyan too, so there's something about my config. (maybe because the background is dark, the color is inverted?)
    </edit>

    Yes, colors reverse over a dark or colored area. The exception to this that I have found is over a 50% black background. It is not possible to see the control handles over this color.
