    Welcome to TalkGraphics

I don't use PaintShopPro, but I wonder if they call them something else? Clipping paths? Or some other kind of path.

I don't use Photoshop, but looking at this Photoshop tutorial:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoKyP_vFsRI

a Clipping Mask is a Selection in PSP.

In PSP you can save a selection to an Alpha Channel:
Selections>Load/Save Selection>Save Selection To Alpha Channel.
When you want to use it, go to Selections>Load/Save Selections>Load Selection from Alpha Channel.
this will do the same thing as the Clipping Mask you are referring to.
    Or
You can make the Selection, then Selections>Promote Selection to Layer which is Shift+Ctrl+P on the keyboard.

Hope this is what you're after.
