Default Guess how old it is

I was thinking recently that good design is timeless, it does not follow design trends or fads and is original, true creation rather than copying what thousands of others have created already. It is visionary and most will love it immediately.

With this in mind I found a pic of one of my favourit buildings, the question is (without resorting to google image search please)

Which year do you think this building was built?

I'll say 1955, the 24 of may by a rainy afternoon at 13:36.
The same day everybody stopped wearing hats.

1990's. I will get the prize for being furthest off.

No. Lets go with the thirties.

Vaguely art decco. I would guess 30s though it could also be 00-13 of the 2000s.

The curves, window sizes, and colour make me think thirties. The window cleaning track makes me think 90's - before the trend to slabs of glass and when there was enough money for form to triumph over function.

I can't see it being 60's, 70's could be eighties.

    Really good quiz.

It does look like German modernism of the thirties, but I'll stick to my precise guess.
    What suspense!

The cars in the photo are modern but that doesn't mean anything. My guess is 1920"S

I was thinking 80's but I'll go with late 70's
