Default Could xara be usd to make a single page website?

One hot new trend for the web is a responsive single page site.
Generally, there is a header with navigation that using CSS is fixed to the top.
Now, I expect that xara won't do the Responsive and if I need the navigation to float, I might need some custom CSS.
But could xara be used to put 90% of the site together without too much effort?

    Here are some examples.

Xara doesn't do responsive - usually people build alternative versions and redirect.

Xara certainly can do one page websites, but whether you can make it look and work as well as some of those templates is another matter entirely. Many of those rely on CSS/JQuery animation and are very polished.

You can download the software as a trial - it's fully functional.

    without too much effort?

That depends on your superstar design skills!

If you are new to all this and looking for a quick route to a design as sophisticated as that shown in the templates, I'd say you are unlikely to achieve it.

If you are an IT specialist (not you Paul, I know you are), then creating a website by altering an existing template will not be a lot of effort.

I create a small version of my sites for mobile devices and full size version for regular browsers. If you try to create a one size fits all (responsive) site, you get the worst of all worlds, or a bad compromise at best. IMHO

www.eyetricks-3d-stereograms.com and www.eyetricks-3d-stereograms.com/mobile is an example. The big site has tons of pictures and information, the small site has just enough information and is designed for easy navigation on a small device.
