Default Need to export vector with gray scale, how?

I have a LOGO that is vector, a software where im using LOGO says that for best results I must export my LOGO to JPG, at least 300 dots per inch and must be GrayScale.

Now, my LOGO is already black and white, do I have to select somewhere GrayScale to export with that optsion selected or I just export to JPG regular way since LOGO is already BW?

    Thanks

Hi Zaoka, you can try using Xnview to convert the JPG to Grayscale.

    Image/convert to grey...

If it's just an issue of having an image that does not use any color, then exporting as normal should be fine. If it's an issue of needing a JPG with a grayscale color space instead of 24bit color, then Marc's suggestion is spot on.

What does the software do with the logo jpg?

I'm surprised that anyone recommends jpg for a logo.

Yeah, I agree with Paul. PNG is better. Probably 256 colors. PNG produces a cleaner image. Especially if there are solid areas. JPEGs can get mushy.

My colleagues here sometimes suggest something but forget to explain what it is. Xnview is a file conversion utility that among other things can create a true grayscale image. You can download it here http://www.xnview.com/

Sadly, a lot of software uses jpgs for just about everything. The developers don't seem to know there are other formats that may produce better results. Or perhaps they just assume that their users won't know about other formats.

Apart from image quality, there's a question of supporting irregular shapes - how many logos are rectangular?

zaoka, what is the software that will read the file? What does it do?
