Default When working with Live Effects Tool

I have been working on a new series of poster sized stereogram images on which I have been apply Redfield's Fine Touch filter.

At 300dpi, and a width of 20 inches, it takes a while for the effect to apply. This is expected and I'm OK with that.

But if you move the page or do anything, the Live Effects filter applies itself all over again. Not OK.

But, if after the effect is applied and you're happy with it, click the Lock Effects icon on the Live Effects Tool Infobar.

This treats the images as if it were a simple bitmap. You can unlock the effect and edit at any time or make a quick bitmap copy without the effect being applied again and again.

What locking the effect also does is generate a bitmap of the effect at the resolution you have the effect applied at. This bitmap is stored within the file and if you want to share your .xar file with someone who does not have the plug in installed the program will use this bitmap to display the effect. Very handy!
