    Absolutely. I was certainly intrigued at the commercial dilemma mid-way in the project - to break records with the "wrong" engines - or not. They were damned if they did and as it turns out damned if they didn't.

    Thanks Sammy, Marc and Paul for your interest. When they ended the program there were 5 flying Mk1's, a MkII having the larger Orenda engines installed and 31 in production. This plane had no prototype, but went into immediate production and testing. All data, photos, films, equipment and planes were totally destroyed. The only reason there are a few bits and pieces of the plane in the Ottawa Aviation Museum is they were secretly wisked away and hidden for several years until the government and politicians of the time were gone. A true vindictive act by those in power.
