    Thanks, it was an unplanned, happy accident.
    Sketchup's native renderer is rather rustic; an effect I like.
    For photo realistic renderings, one of the many available plugins can be used.
    The native renderer has within it many styles that will change how the final graphic
    is displayed. The above style is called Brush Strokes on Canvas.
