Taskbar textool missing fonts

Hi,
I am using Designer pro X. This morning when using the text tool to highlight and change some text I have lost the taskbar flyout containing
the font size, type of font, bold, italic, and centre, etc
any ideas of how to find and how to bring back.
I have looked across all the tabs top of the screen but cannot find a reset tab.
