Default Problem with the Mold Tool

I don't know how to use efficiently the mold tool ( not a lot of tutorials about it ) .

Maybe it's not possible in Xara but here is an exemple from an artist's work where the text ( and picture ) fits very well on the page :

I'd like to use the same effect ( or a little better than I usually do ) on some personal works but :

    Could be better ...

I'm sure I don't know to use well mold tool, though ...

( Sorry for my english , and Thanks for your answers ) .

    Bon jour Cliodna!

If you did the last two images then you are doing very good.

This may help a little http://www.xaraxone.com/webxealot/workbook14/page_4.htm

When you have selected the Mould Tool, press F1 and you will see a menu of options. (You can press F1 with any tool selected for more options for that tool).

To make the effect in the artists book, you will have to break the book page into two areas, and apply a Default Envelope to each.

Gary Bouton did an excellent tutorial on doing this kind of thing in a tips n tricks on the Xara Xone in June http://www.xaraxone.com/tips-and-tri...xt-as-a-shape/

And you can see the discussion thread here http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthre...ext-as-a-Shape

It sometimes helps to draw a rectangle roughly the size of the area you want to include text or whatever. Lay it all out in the rectangle then when your happy with it, group all and apply the default perspective mould and apply the mould, in your case, to the page. When finished, convert to editable shapes, ungroup and delete the rectangle.

I have not a lot of merit for this , its from a photoshop tutorial I wanted to try in Xara .

I think that the font I chose add to the problem ( not very regular font ) .

    I don't show my postcard , its a flop .

With all these tutorials to study ( ty Angelize ) , and all these suggestions from GWpriester and Stygg , I think maybe I can do some progress with this particular task ( a real pain ... ) , that I often need .

I did a similar tutorial in May 2003. I forgot all about it until I saw the other link. http://www.xaraxone.com/tutorials/may03/index.html
