    Don't think anyone has mentioned it yet - png supports alpha. Once you've removed the background in Xara, export as png with alpha.

    Hi Mr Kukans, I have just tried it out and it works OK. Go to mask mode, using the drawing tool draw the path round the required area of your photograph and close the path. Select the clip (crop) tool and then hit the cip button at the top of the screen. This can then be exported as AI and opened in illustrator with clipping mask intact or can be separated if required.

    Not sure clicking on a blind link, which supposedly leads you to a sight dedicated to the topic...related to another product, is such a good idea. Curious about the pseudonym, and how it matches the subject of the post.
