    Timely.

However, is the flag supposed to be historic? Because the arrangement of stars is mid 1900s. And a tattered flag is an abused flag and should be retired unless the colors were tattered in battle.

It might work better if it was the original flag referenced in the Star Spangled Banner.

    Lovely rendering regardless.

You guys never cease to amaze me with the great variation of artwork that is created with Xara. I really like this drawing because to me it shows patriotism and history. These colours look well battle scarred and for a still picture it has great movement right down to the raggedy ends of the banner. It really dose do the trick by having it placed on a dark background and I love the wooden OLD GLORY sign it’s just like something that could have been seen outside a pub in the Victorian times.
Great work, I for one am glad you dug this old drawing out to share with us all.

Thank you all for the wonderful compliments. I was referencing a Vietnam picture, of a battle worn flag. So yes, it is a modern flag and battle distressed. However, I did apply some antique coloring. The reasoning was, and is, a reflection of my personal pride and patriotism. The subject, and the treatment of the subject may be diametric. But, I'm pleased.
