need help doing photoshop tut in Xara

I'm doing a photoshop tutorial in Xara. XP&G6. I'm stuck on how to accomplish the next step.

Help of any kind will be truly appreciated.

heres one approach using clipview and gausian blur and some transparency - you might find feathering is useful too

[note - the clipshape has no fill and no outline [it is not white]]

Forgot to post the finish Jim I applied a mask to the PNG. and gave the top shape a -81 blur.
