About a zillion years ago when my art professor was trying to teach us how to use a French curve—and he was VERY skilled with one—he told us that by rotating the curve in mid-stroke—to do this as a technique—that every sort of curve a designer could imagine could be drawn.

Thanks for the Giveaway Francis. Started praticing using the shape tool on the shapes with the tips in Gary's tut on using the tool, not as easy as it looks! but two good lots of shapes to get plenty of practice with

Rotate a curve in mid-stroke! What does that exactly mean Gary, please forgive my ignorance but I assume your talking about art strokes, brush,pencil etc. on a canvas or the like as opposed to electronic strokes so to speak as in Xara? :rolleyes

Yes, I mean the physical French curves, stygg. sorry I was vague.

But I'm guessing years to come with multi-touch screens, you'll be able to do it electronically.

Hello , everyone . Is there any place on this forum to indroduce new members ?
So , I introduce myself : I"m French , very found of Xara , and I apologize if my english is sometimes broken .
I've discovered xara softwares with Monsieur Gary tutorials , and I've learned everything from there ( I was new to vector art ) . Now, I just realized there were forums too .. And I come for a " salut " . ( And I didn't find the album or signature options being a fresh noob .. )

About this thread , I didn't know the curve tools were " french " , it was the first time I see that .( I used them a long time ago , though ... )

So , " Mes salutations à tous et à bientôt !! "
