    xdp6 New website with XARA

I have created this little website four the supporters club of our local church ... it is very simple and clean and with no great design effects (well I guess my design skills are limited anyway)

I had this site set up with Wordpress first, but I realised the XARA ist the best solution for websites with non-dynamic content!

    Feedback and criticism appreciated :-)

I like it. The site is very clean, and easy to navigate. Now, if I could only learn to read German, I could comment on the content.

Nice looking site. Congratulations. One remark, though, the "Kontakt" link not only starts up the email client but it also opens a new blank page. You might want to remove that link.

Same here with the kontakt link, and is the page shadow really needed? Also when clicking on the last photo (Der Verwaltungsrat) all I get is a pre-loader over the photo. Overall though this is a very good example of a modern site, clean, simple and easy to navigate. Really well done.

    Thanks for the positive feedback

    - the blank page problem should be fixed now
    - same for the "Verwaltungsrat" photo

I thought the page shadow makes the site's look a little bit modern - any suggestions for a better solution?

How about a boxed style; light grey background with a white content area, it would be much more modern and suite the sites colours. or with a very slight shadow. Just like this page from apple.com http://www.apple.com/ipod-touch/

Or to keep it simple simply take the shadow away and have a white page background. A lot of sites are doing that now, the clean simple look, it suits some sites more than others but with the type of site it is it would suit it. again the main page of www.apple.com is really simple and to the point or have a look at the new microsoft site http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx.
