Well, if we're posting some apple drawings.
Then, I hope Paul won't mind mine?!
Paul: Did you spotted my question in Post #10?

I'm using Parallels 8.
Hi Paul,
Does that work well and what all is involved. I have a friend who is interested in Xara but of course he has a Mac and would have to do some monkeying around to get it workin on the Mac.
Thanks,
Ed......:-)

Hi Ed.
You can use two bits of software.
One is called Fusion 4
and the other is called Parallels.
You need one of these to run Windows in a virtual environment.
I've read a few articles and either will do a very good job.
I have both and, in fact, with version 7, Parallels didn't do some of the things as well as Fusion 4.
What it was, you could drag a file from the Mac side to the Parallels (Windows) side, but you could not do it the other way round.
So, I contacted Parallels and they worked on this and with version 8, you can now drag a file from the Parallels side to the Mac side.
Parallels has a very good customer support.
Though, I would bet that Fusion 4 is as good but I have not had to use it.
Primarily because I've been doing everything in Parallels.
Actually, the only reason I use Parallels, is to run Windows and therefore Xara.
Hope that helps.

i remember that tutorial. it was one of the first of Gary's tutorials that i did. Gary has such a gift in creating tutorials, he is the master of tuts. I am very grateful that he has taken the time to share his knowledge with the rest of us.
In answer to using Xara on a mac. You have many alternatives. Bootcamp was my first choice. It is running windows on a separate partition. down side, you need to boot into the windows or mac environment no cross platform. I chose to use Parallels 7 so that i could boot Xara as a mac application on my iMac. Rik, I think that you setup your Parallels as a windows environment instead of the mac. I launch Xara from my mac launch bar and it loads into my mac. (no windows desktop) I have access to all mac files, clipboard, and other resources and drives. Just updated to Mountain Lion and got a free update to Parallels 8.
Please, if anyone has an apple drawing to share, feel free to post on this thread. all are welcome.
Rik, i like the lightning effect, very well done.
Thank you everyone for your comments, they are greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much to both of you.....my friend is a very good tech and he will definitely check it out.......in fact, I will see him tomorrow morning before we go to a BC Lions football (north american version and from Canada) and we'll chat about it.
Thanks again guys,
Ed......:-)

You are welcome. If your friend is a tech, he will not have any problem putting Xara on his Mac. Enjoy the game.

Paul: It's just a personal preference. I prefer to run Windows on it's own, rather than in 'Coherence' mode.
I have a 13" MacBook. I think if I had an iMac with a large monitor, then I may well use Coherence mode.
As this is the Art Gallery, can't just discuss things without contributing something!
So, here's a couple of wallpapers I did for the Mac.
I'm using the pale one, at the moment.
