a pleasure to help, but you have a problem on your pc because on my system which is by no means a speed demon (Win Vista 64 Ulti 8Gb ram) the two files converted to PDF in seconds

i have a dedicated PC for design/artwork and it has been a work-horse for years, i know i may have to replace 'old-faithful' soon but it's never been a problem until now..
