Background Advice

Hi

I'm trying to insert a bar across the top of my page which extends both sides equally beyond the fucntional page. It looks great when I preview and all centred etc, yet when I publish it appears off-centre, I can't seem to fix it, I'm inserting the bar in the background of the page, is this correct, or can anyone tell me a better way to achieve what I'm looking for.

I would create a black and yellow bitmap fill for the home page, then add the banner to the top area and add a black rectangle inside the page.

The page background image will tile horizontally and center in any browser.

Hi

I wondered if you have a minute if you could look at this page (http://www.dmediadesign.co.uk/burghbackground1.htm) and tell me where I'm going wrong, I did what you suggested yesterday and it worked first time. Though today I seem to be hitting a block somewhere. I can't get rid of the two white lines that are appearing at the top of the page.

I created the rectangles the same size as the page, then softgrouped them then exported them. I then created a new page the same size as as overall rectangles size and when I preview/publish the white lines appear. Any ideas where I'm going wrong.

If you added a rectangle over the page, check it to make sure it does not have a white outline.

Also, you might want to make the bitmap deeper so that it does not repeat.

I checked to see if the white outlines were there, they normally default to black if anything they would be black, as a test I added an outline colour and the outline colour appears and the white outline is still present beyond that.

It would help if you can upload the file. But first do this. Check the bitmap image you are using for your background and make sure the image is in even pixel amounts (for example 900px vs 900.7px). If this is not the problem then upload your .web document file and we'll see if we can sort it out.
