button animation rotating text one side picture the other

hello all, I was wondering if there is any way of putting a picture on one side of a button and writing text on the other.
I have been able to do this using page break for text only.

If there is any way of this accomplishment I would appreciate greatly.

Hey Wheels

If it's a button, you can have a bitmap on one side (MouseOff or MouseOver) and text on the other side(MouseOff or MouseOver).

I did this sample in Designer Pro X. But you should be able to open it in earlier versions.

In order to create a navigation bar, both button states need to have text, so on the side of the button with the bitmap, I set the text fill to none.

If you want to have different images, then you have to create your buttons separately, but using the same method.

You might have to create two separate animations and then combine the two in Xara vector.

Wheels, you can, but you may need both your Xara and X3D. This is how I would do it using XDPX, and 3DMaker7. Make your shape and duplicate and fill one with your photo and the other one with the text, export both one at a time then copy the shape and paste in in X3D, insert a page break and paste again and texture each with the one of the images you exported. Now when you animate each side will have a different image, and, can be a different color as well. Should work the same for you with whatever versions you are using.

thank you very much for the reply, and he is my ignorance but what is x3d, and xdpx, I only have version 6 and version 7 of xara sorry about ignorance.

Version 6 and version 7 could be Xara 3D version 6 or Xara 3D Maker version 7. Or Xara Web Designer version 6 or Xara Web Designer version 7, or Xara Designer Pro version 6 or Xara Designer Pro version 7. Difficult to answer your question without knowing which Xara software you are using.

hello again this, it is xara 3-D version 6 and version 7 3-D maker. I do not have any other of this range of software products.

You can do what I want to do with text, put something on one side and that rotate with different text on each rotation, that's one tried to do with this button, only picture on one side and then rotating button with text on the other.

I want to put a wolf on one side, then with text on the opposite face when rotating showing different writing.

There is another 3-D program around, but is not as easy to use as this one. It is a shame is not as much designs around for this program, I have done the update for the extra designs, still not many.

Hi Mark,

I've been experimenting and have a sample animation. The Xara 3D button cannot be used but a WingDings 2 shape and a bit of fiddling with the settings made the attached animation. I will work up a mini-tutorial and post it later.

Writing a tutorial takes much more time than than it does to experiment and find a way to do something. The attached .pdf is the tutorial, I hope it explains things clearly.
