Color Replacement

I have been trying to use the color replacement feature in Xara 8 Pro... not having much luck. I'm trying to change the blue flowers in the attached image to pink flowers. This is something that the actual example in the Xara help file shows, but I keep getting these really bad results that look extremely photoshopped.

If someone can point me to a good tutorial I would appreciate it... or you can try it yourself and tell me if this is just a bad picture.

I personally feel this feature is not as accurate as promised.

The best I can offer is zoom in close to one of the purple flowers and experiment with the sliders. Even when I do this, not getting an outline around the shape is neigh unto impossible.

image is too low a resolution... quite apart from anything else....

I ended up going a different route... I got a photo with some pink wildflowers... cut those out and pasted them into this photo to replace the blue ones...

here I tried it in opening the photo editor tool zoomed to 500%
and working with color balance it is trying different possibilities
hue saturation and brightness
first a selection with the magic wand then adding to selection with brushes and refining using 1 or to pixels adding and removing from selection
I have graphic designer 5 silver

you can just try it the quality of the photo is not the best
