Default Simple question about photo and graphics setup

Question one: I've just posted a slide show on YouTube. When it plays at small and large size it is fine and sharp. When I do a full screen it's a bit blurry. Does that mean I have to make things larger than I have and then shrink them down. Or does that mean even making them larger and shrinking that when I blow it back up it still loses quality. Bottom line I want the product to look good even if someone plays at full screen.

Question two: I'm a little confused about setting up graphics for a slide show in 7, soon to be X, for that work; not sure how to figure pixels for 16X9 or whatever a standard slide size is.

    Any input appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi Giddyup,
Well you didn't mention the video editor used, but I create all my video backgrounds in Designer Pro x at 1920X1080 then export. Now to answer (the best of my knowledge) in video editing it is advisable (my opinion) to create at the cameras default resolution cause if you optimize for web youtube stretches them when viewed full screen they are stretched to fit giving poor quality. So I create my video graphics using a 1920X1080 screen size and incorporate Pictures at max resolution within.
    Hope that helps.
    Jim
p.s. You loose less quality in Video going from a larger viewing screen to smaller viewing screen than going from a smaller viewing screen to larger

The video editor is Pro Show Gold bought about 5 or 6 years ago. I would update to Pro Show Producer but just spent available funds on my upgrade to X. I've toyed with the idea of doing slides in Sony Vegas, but the learning curve is a little steep for the time I have allowed to play with it. My main goal is Xara X.

Thanks for the input, this helps a lot and I will subscribe to this approach from this point forward. Here-to-fore I've been homing in on sizes that will fit nicely on a web page not taking up too much space but large enough for viewers to see detail, 550X550 pixels and occasionly a bit smaller. If you want to see what I mean I'm including a link to YouTube, and it's under GrinMultimedia.
    Thanks again, Giddyup

You need to make the show to the maximum size. It will reduce down in size but it will not scale up very much without the image getting soft and blurred.

Thank you for your input; was afraid of that. So no matter what I do, or how large I start with it's gonna' be soft at full screen on YouTube.

No, that's not what I said. And I am just as old as you if not a bit older.

If you create your video at full screen size, it will look good in both HD and smaller.
