Arrange a shape within a group

How do I arrange a shape within a group forwards or backwards? I can select the shape in the Page & Layer Gallery, but I cannot drag it higher or lower in the hierarchy. I simply want to move a shape within a group so that it is behind another shape.

Ungroup. Reorder. Group.

I may be wrong but I do not think objects in a group can be reordered.

in the latest version you can use the 'edit inside' function and reorder [not in version 6 as far as I recall]

ungrouping will remove global group attributes eg group transparency - edit inside will preserve that

In version 6 and earlier no they can't but in newer versions they can using the edit inside feature which was introduced in version 7 and in DPX you can drag objects within a group in the page and layer gallery to reorder them.

You can drag within a group in XDP6 and higher. In XDP7 and DPX you have the edit inside feature. Also, in DPX, you can move from a lower group to a higher group when there are groups within groups.

In XDP6, you cannot move it to a new group nor out of the group it is in if there are groups within groups going from a lower group to a higher group. However, you can drag objects from a higher group into a lower group if there are groups within groups.

degree451 is using Photo and Graphics Designer 6 so this is not appropriate except as an incentive to upgrade.

Photo & Graphics Designer 6 has the Page & Layer Gallery. You can reorder the objects within a group using the Gallery.
