Xara designer Pro V8 doesn't generate thumbnails

Anyone else noticed tha Xara doesn't generate thumbnails of new files. I know that you can force Xara to display thumbnails if you open the maps where the files are located in Explorer but it's tedious to go to explorer to get thumbnails.

No problems here with DPX on Windows 7 Pro 64bit.

(I assume by 'maps' you mean folders?)

Sorry, yes I mean folders. Map is the dutch word. I'm on Windows 7 home premium.

Also works fine on Windows 8 Release Preview 64bit (in case you were curious)

You might try re installing as admin, though it ought not need it - but it can depend on which security software is running at the time you installed DPX first.

why would it matter if it had thumbnails or not ??

If you have over a thousand files it is easier if the image has a thumbnail so you can see what the image actually looks like.

I did try the "repair" function and ran it as administrator and Xara displayed a new file as thumbnail. Thanks again Sledger, your suggestion worked!
